Doctor Who to return on 27th August

Doctor Who will return to BBC America on Saturday 27th August 2011, Matt Smith has confirmed.

It is expected that Let's Kill Hitler, the first episode of Doctor Who: Series 6, Part 2, will be shown on BBC One in the UK on the same day.

Smith revealed the news during the Doctor Who panel as this year's Comic-Con convention in San Diego.

The second half of the 2011 Doctor Who series consists of six episodes and sees the return of Matt Smith as The Doctor, Karen Gillan as Amy Pond and Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams.

A preview trailer of the series was shown at the convention, along with a separate clip from The God Complex, episode 11 of the current series, which is scripted by Toby Whithouse.
