The show gained is fourth Hugo award 'Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form' for the 2009 Autumn Special 'The Waters of Mars', which was penned by Russell T Davies and Phil Ford. On his Twitter page, Phil Ford commented: "Monday morning shopping list to include one mantlepiece for one Hugo award! Thanks for all the congrats. Let's not forget the genius of RTD!"

This year's TV Choice Awards were at the Dorchester Hotel in London yesterday, where Doctor Who picked up 'Best Family Drama'. Karen Gillan, better known as Amy Pond, collected the award, which is voted for by the public.
