BARB have published the consolidated viewing figures for Doctor Who: The Big Bang.
The final episode of Doctor Who: Series 5 was watched by 6.12 million viewers on BBC One, with a further 0.50 million million watching on the BBC HD channel, giving the episode a total of 6.7 million viewers. This figure makes the episode the 10th most-watched programme of the week.
There have been 1.32 million requests for the episode on the BBC iPlayer.
The episode scored an Appreciation Index of 89. A score of 85 or above is considered as 'excellent'.
Despite a number of lazy 'journalists' claiming that Matt Smith's first series had averaged at around 6 million viewers, the consolidated figures hovever show that it has in fact had an average of around 8 million.
This series just out-rates David Tennant’s first two series but comes just behind Tennant’s last series.
