Sylvester McCoy joins Twitter

Sylvester McCoy has joined the social networking website Twitter under the username @SylvesterMcCoy.

His first tweet was posted yesterday: "Hello everyone! I'm on Twitter"

Doctor Who Magazine confirmed the authenticity of the account, posting: "The Seventh Doctor Who himself: @SylvesterMcCoy!"

McCoy currently has around 5000 followers and is the second Doctor actor on the website after Colin Baker joined earlier this year.

Other notable users include Doctor Who, Steven Moffat, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill.
