BBC unveils new Doctor Who director
With production due to begin on the new series of Doctor Who later this month, the BBC have announced that Saul Metzstein will be directing the opening episode.
The multi-award winning director's previous work includes Micro Men (starring Alexander Armstrong and Martin Freeman) as well as the critically acclaimed Late Night Shopping and BBC Wales' Upstairs Downstairs.
The 2012 series also marks the first time that Doctor Who has been produced in the new BBC Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff, which will officially open next month.
Steven Moffat acts as executive producer and lead writer alongside incoming executive Caroline Skinner. Marcus Wilson returns to his role as producer.
Production will commence on 20th February 2012. Doctor Who will return to BBC One in the Autumn.
