Doctor Who helps BBC iPlayer to 153 million hits

The latest series of Doctor Who helped the BBC iPlayer achieve over 153 million requests in September, the corporation has revealed.

The show dominated the TV chart, with four episodes taking places within the top ten.

The Girl Who Waited was at the top with 1.16m requests and Night Terrors at number two with 1.12m.

Although they were available for a shorter period, The God Complex charted at number four with 1.01m, while Closing Time achieved fifth place with 965,000.

The online catch-up service attracted 32m requests every week, with 10m for radio and 22m for TV.
