Matt Smith, Elisabeth Sladen lead TV Choice nominations
The shortlist for this year's TV Choice awards has been revealed, with nominations for Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures.
Doctor Who has earned a nomination in the Best Family Drama category, alongside Waterloo Road, Merlin and Casualty.
Matt Smith is up for the Best Actor award for his role in Doctor Who. He is competing with David Tennant (Single Father), Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Colin Morgan (Merlin).
Elisabeth Sladen, who sadly passed away earlier this year, is in the running for the Best Actress award for her role as Sarah Jane in The Sarah Jane Adventures. Karen Gillan is also nominated for her work on Doctor Who alongside Amanda Burton (Waterloo Road) and Vicky McClure (This Is England ’86).
The awards will be presented on Tuesday 13th September at the Savoy Hotel in London, hosted by Ben Miller.
