David Tennant in "United"

David Tennant returns to the small screen tonight, in the one-off drama "United" which focuses on 1958 Munich plane crash which killed eight Manchester United players.

Tennant takes on the role of coach Jimmy Murphy in the film, which is written by Chris Chibnall and directed by James Strong.

Synopsis
Drama based on the true story of Manchester United's legendary Busby Babes, the youngest side ever to win the Football League, and the 1958 Munich air crash that claimed eight of their number. The film draws on first-hand interviews with the survivors and their families to tell the inspirational story of a team and community overcoming terrible tragedy.

"United" will be broadcast on BBC Two tonight at 9.00pm
