BBC planning Elisabeth Sladen tribute

According to Digital Spy, the return of Doctor Who will include a tribute to the late Elisabeth Sladen.

The actress, who played the much-loved investigative journalist Sarah Jane Simth in Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures, passed away yesterday following a battle with cancer.

Asked if a tribute the Sladen will be featured in the new series of Doctor Who, a BBC spokesperson said that the programme's production team are "planning something suitable".

No further details are currently available.

Doctor Who will return to BBC One with "The Impossible Astronaut" on Saturday at 6.00pm.
