Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol - BBC America & ABC ratings

Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol was watched by 727,000 viewers when it went out on BBC America on Christmas Day, according to TV by the Numbers.

This figure is higher than last year's special "The End of Time, Part One" which had an audience of 671,000.

Meanwhile, the Australia Boxing Day broadcast episode averaged at 880,000 viewers on ABC.

The episode dominated its prime-time slot, becoming the top-rating drama of the day and the eighth highest rating programme of the day overall, according to TV Tonight.
