Karen Gillan cast in "Romeo And Brittney" movie

Karen Gillan, who plays Amy Pond in Doctor Who, has landed a role as another time-traveller in the David Baddiel-directed movie "Romeo And Brittney", it has been reported.

The Scottish actress will take on the lead role of Brittney, a high school teenager from New Jersey who finds herself travelling back in time to "mythical 13th-century Verona".

Gillan will star alongside Gillian Anderson who plays Brittney's mother and the Nurse.

Filming on the movie is expected to begin in May 2011.
