Anjli Mohindra in Law & Order: UK
Anjli Mohindra, who plays Rani Chandra in The Sarah Jane Adventures is guest starring in tonight's episode of Law & Order: UK at 9.00pm on ITV1 alongside Freema Agyeman who plays a regular character, Alesha Philips.
A young woman vomits blood on the concourse of a London railway station and later dies in hospital. It turns out she was a drug mule who had just returned from Thailand, her stomach packed with bursting, heroin-filled condoms. Detectives Brooks and Devlin discover that she was a popular, hard-working girl from a good family, who are naturally stunned. But a little digging uncovers unpleasant details about her romantic life. It would be good to see a bit more of no-nonsense boss Detective Inspector Natalie Chandler (splendid Harriet Walter) and much less of the undynamic duo, prosecutors James Steel and Alesha Phillips, whose latest extrajudicial means of trying to secure a conviction at any cost are jaw-dropping. Still, a guest spot from Eddie Marsan as a nervy, wig-straightening, OCD-afflicted defence barrister enlivens the courtroom scenes. He's a class act who steals every scene he's in.
