Neil Gaiman wins Hugo award
The prestigious 2012 Hugo Awards were presented at the Chicon 7 convention in Chicago earlier this week, with Doctor Who picking up one award.
Neil Gaiman's 2011 Doctor Who episode The Doctor's Wife was awarded Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form.
Writer Gaiman said: "I flew back to Albany, while my Hugo was taken home without me in a TARDIS-blue car with the license plate IDRIS. Can anything be more appropriate?"
Doctor Who has earned a total of six Hugo awards since the show was revived in 2005.
