Doctor Who: Asylum of the Daleks - first official picture

The BBC have unveiled the first promotional picture for the opening episode of Doctor Who Series 7 - Asylum of the Daleks.

The image shows The Doctor (Matt Smith) carrying Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) through fire and several generations of Daleks.

A new trailer for the series will be available on the official Doctor Who website from approximately 6.00am this morning and will be broadcast on BBC One tonight at 8.00pm.

The picture can be downloaded as a desktop wallpaper from the BBC website.

Doctor Who is expected to return later this month.
