Doctor Who, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan shortlisted for TV Choice Awards
Doctor Who has been shortlisted in several of the categories for the 2012 TV Choice Awards.
Doctor Who itself is up for the Best Family Award, alongside Waterloo Road, Merlin and Glee.
Matt Smith is competing with Doc Martin's Martin Clunes, Merlin's Colin Morgan and Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch for the Best Actor award.
Karen Gillan is also shortlisted in the Best Actress category and faces opposition from Call The Midwife star Miranda Hart, Skins actress Freya Mavor and Waterloo Road's Jaye Jacobs.
Voting on the shortlist is open until Friday 13h July 2012
Jo Brand will host the awards ceremony which will take place on 10th September at London's Dorchester Hotel.
