Karen Gillan wins 'Scottish Fashion Icon' award

Doctor Who actress Karen Gillan was named the Scottish Fashion Icon at the 2012 Scottish Fashion Awards.

Prior to wining the award, Gillan told stv.com: “It would be a huge honour to win an award like that and really unexpected. I honestly didn’t think I’d be nominated for anything wearing the clothes I wear but apparently I am, so it’s really nice!”

The seventh annual awards took place at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Glasgow.

Karen Gillan will star in five final episodes as Amy Pond when Doctor Who returns in the Autumn.
