Dalek impersonator Martyn Crofts performs live on Britain's Got Talent

Following his bizarre audition on Britain's Got Talent, Dalek impersonator Martyn Crofts performed live for the nation's votes on last night's semi-final.

Amanda Holden urged Doctor Who fans to vote for the act: “There are millions of Doctor Who fans worldwide, they could vote for you they could get you through to the final.”

However, Simon Cowell was less optimistic: “That was arguably the most stupid act I’ve ever seen on the show... I’m urging Doctor Who fans not to put you through… At the end of the day we have to write a cheque for half a million and put you in front of the royal family and they do not want to see that.”

David Walliams added: “I think you exterminated the competition.”

Crofts did not make it through to the live final.
