Roy Skelton dies, aged 79
Actor Roy Skelton passed away earlier today, aged 79.
Skelton provided the voices for the Daleks, Cybermen, Krotons and many other monsters in Doctor Who throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
In 2002, he starred in the Big Finish audio drama Sarah Jane Smith: Test Of Nerve.
The actor is perhaps best known for his role voicing puppets George and Zippy in the popular children's programme Rainbow.
He worked on the programme from its inception in the early 1970s until it ended in 1992.
In 2008, he made a brief return to the role of Zippy in Ashes to Ashes.
Samantha Skelton told the BBC that her father passed away at his Brighton home after suffering a stroke.
