Steven Moffat on Doctor Who Christmas 2011

In an interview with SFX, Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat has given some brief details about the 2011 Christmas Special.

“It will be as Christmassy as Hell. I might be cleverly redeploying a known Christmas story again, sort of… but probably not the one you think! It will be massively Christmassy and moving and sentimental and sweet. It’ll be set partly on Earth, but not completely. And it might have a period setting…”

The full interview will be published in SFX issue 213, on sale from 24th August.

I'd love for it to be a remake of A Charlie Brown Christmas or something like that. (Hey, they did A Christmas Carol!)

Not another Christmas story for Who. Last years was bad enough. What are we to expect next? The eleventh Doctor meets Father Christmas and helps him dish out his pressies by roping Daleks on his sleigh. Or how about him using his sonic to light up the star to help the three idiots find Jesus. I should not have said that really. It seems Moffet is running out of ideas and would be desperate enough to use those.

I bet it will be It's a Wonderful Life. Mind you that has been done with Turn Left. Come up with original plots Moff!

The Doctor...

"All of time and space; everywhere and anywhere; every star that ever was. Where do you want to start?"
