Neil Gaiman to write Doctor Who for 2013

Following the success of The Doctor's Wife, acclaimed writer Neil Gaiman is developing a script for a Doctor Who episode to air in  2013.

During his acceptance speech at the recent Hugo awards, Gaiman hinted: “...only a fool or a mad man would try to do it again... so I’m on the third draft.”

The writer later told io9 that his story is planned for the second half of Series 7, which will be broadcast in Spring 2013.

However he added that the episode could be pushed back to a later date, just as The Doctor's Wife was moved from 2010 to 2011.
